Midwest Tool Introduces Three Flex Duct Cutting Tools For a Job Well Done
Sturgis, Michigan (January 23, 2018) – Midwest Tool has expanded its hand tool line with the introduction of three flex duct cutting tools for the HVAC/R and other related industries.
Two of the new tools are the MIDWEST® Flex Duct Knives, designed for cutting flexible duct, duct board, or other appropriate materials. One knife (MWT-FDK01) has a contoured wooden handle for comfortable use. The knife has a full tang and solid stainless steel rivets for long-lasting durability. The second knife (MWT-FDK02) has a rubberized tapered finger grip handle for comfortable slip-resistant use. Both knives have a 5″ (12.7 cm) stainless steel, resharpenable double blade with both standard and serrated edges, which allows for cutting in both directions. The knives include a ripstop nylon sheath for safe storage.
The last tool is the MIDWEST® Flex Duct Combo Tool (MWT-FDT01), which combines two essential flex duct tools into one. The 5″ (12.7 cm) stainless steel resharpenable double blade has both standard and serrated edges, which allows for cutting in both directions. Its compound leverage wire cutter makes for convenient, easy cutting of the flex duct wire without changing tools mid-job. The wire cutter features an M2 alloy steel cutting blade, providing a long-lasting cut edge. The tool includes a ripstop nylon sheath for safe storage.
Midwest Tool and Cutlery Company began manufacturing metal cutting snips and related hand tools in Sturgis, Michigan, in 1945. Today, Midwest Tool is a privately-held Michigan corporation operating manufacturing facilities in Sturgis, Michigan, Kalkaska, Michigan, and Caledonia, Ohio.
